The SunBird American Irish Club officers are as follows: President Val Bongiorno, Vice President Phyllis Zaccone, Treasurer Mary Alibrandi, and Secretary Sue Prudencio.

The American Irish Club’s latest event was a trip to Barleens in Apache Junction. A great time was had by all. The meal was delicious, and the show was great! A special thanks to Judy Phillips for planning and organizing this event.

We have a couple of fun-filled events coming soon. The Irish Club will sponsor the annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner. It will include dinner with salad, a choice of corned beef and cabbage or shepherd’s pie, potatoes and vegetables, and rolls, followed by dessert. There will also be live music provided by The Rusty Parts Band. Put on your dancing shoes. The price is only $25 per person. This event is open to the community. Ticket sales will be in the lobby beginning Feb. 24 from 9 to 11 a.m. on weekdays and 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. on weekends. There will also be raffle tickets available for a Basket Raffle. There will be a number of beautiful baskets filled with all types of goodies.

We will also have the annual St. Patrick’s Day Golf Cart Parade on March 17. Carts will line up on Waterview at 2 p.m. Decorate your carts and come on out.

New members are always welcome. Our meetings are the first Thursday of the month, with happy hour at 4 p.m. and the meeting at 5 p.m., followed by a wonderful meal. The cost to join is only $35 per person. Being Irish is not a requirement. Lots of wonderful, caring people having a great time together.
