We’re all coming back for another season of fun in the sun!

It has been a great summer for TV “armchair” tennis. Quality of play and the entertainment just keeps getting better and better. The standard of play has been phenomenal and definitely never disappointing! Just the schedule for ATP Tour alone offered up 64 tennis tournaments in 31 countries in one season. So, if you were lucky enough to have watched the full Davis Cup agenda and all the Grand Slams this season, you would be up to 75 tournaments in all! This year, we sadly said goodbye to the great Serena Williams, hello to the new, up-and-coming stars like Coco Gauff, and, of course, we always love watching our all-time favorites like Rafa Nadal. What a great season!
Many of our snowbirds will be returning to SunBird this month to join us on our fabulous sport courts for another great season of tennis! Welcome back, everyone! We have a full, active season planned for all of you. J.D. Stephenson has worked hard on coordinating our club tournaments for the season. There are a total of 16 events. Some we are hosting here and some we will play at participating facilities like Trilogy, Sun Lakes, Cottonwood, Robson Ranch, Palm Creek, and Springfield. Bring it on! Go SunBird!
Please join us for our first meeting on Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. in the Lakeview Room. We will be reviewing our current sport court schedule, presenting the tournament schedule for the season, and nominating new officers for the Nov. 1 elections. It’s an important meeting and one that you surely won’t want to miss! And if you are a new resident in SunBird and are thinking of joining the SunBird Tennis Club, please come out to meet us! We are a vibrant and exciting group of tennis friends and enthusiasts, and we welcome you to the club!
