Every 30 days or so, I have the distinct pleasure of putting together words of encouragement for the members of our community with any interest in the game of tennis. I give the times and days we meet and schedules for any socials or local tournaments, etc.
The month of October is upon us, and we have a few added issues, but they are all related: First, we will continue the idea of three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), but the time will change from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
Next, there is the return of our snow-buddies from up North and Canada, who are getting back with some regularity, and we want to welcome you all back to Chandler/SunBird!
The Sun Lakes community will put on a couple of tournaments, with the Villages at Ocotillo holding its annual Oktoberfest tourney Oct. 27-31. Also, the newly combined Bradshaw Memorial and Don Neu Memorial Tournament will be held Nov. 12-14, and the Chandler NTRP Fall Classic will occur during the same three days.
SunBird will begin its local social tournaments according to the following schedule:

Nov. 6, 2021: SunBird vs. Robson Ranch at Robson Ranch
Nov. 20, 2021: The SunBird Welcome Back Tournament at home
Nov. 27, 2021: Springfield vs. SunBird at home
Dec. 4, 2021: Trilogy vs. SunBird at home
Dec. 11, 2021: 2021 Cottonwood vs. SunBird at home
Jan. 1, 2022: Sun Lakes vs. SunBird at home
Jan. 8, 2022: Trilogy vs. SunBird at home with Trilogy hosting (The courts at Trilogy are being renovated and are not available.)
Jan. 22, 2022: SunBird/Springfield vs. Sun Lakes at Sun Lakes
Jan. 29, 2022: Trilogy vs. SunBird at home
Feb. 5, 2022: SunBird vs. Sun Lakes at Sun Lakes
Feb. 26, 2022: SunBird vs. Springfield at home
March 12, 2022: Palm Creek vs. SunBird at home
March 19, 2022: Mountain Creek vs. SunBird at home
We will need all of your help in the kitchen and about for the Home matches, and there will be sign-up forms in the Racket Club concession kitchen. Thank you in advance for all your help.
Our weekly schedule is Monday from 8:30 to 10 a.m., Women’s Doubles; Monday from 10 a.m. to noon
