The Rattlesnakes are playing Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons with tee times starting around noon. November through March, the Snakes play a modified Stableford format with individual games on both days. This golf format assigns fixed points for your actual stroke score on each hole. A $10 tournament entry fee is required each time you play, and you must cover your normal greens fee. Five tournament cash placements with additional SunBird Golf Shop chits for the daily winners, “Snake of the Season” trophy recognition, daily hole #3 “On the Green Closest to the Flag” cash pot, six other progressive par 3 KPs with cash pots that build up until a 12-inch or less tee shot triggers the cash payout to the three closest players, and optional hole-in-one pots are fun and challenging contests with opportunities to win money. Anyone (guys and gals) with a current USGA or World Handicap System (WHS) handicap index, or a Canada equivalent index, or five completed 18-hole scorecards, signed, attested, and dated from any golf course is welcome to play with the Snakes on the beautiful, green, and lush SunBird Golf Resort course. You do not have to be a SunBird resident to participate. The Snakes have some of the best golfers playing, and we have some of the not-the-best golfers playing. This is the most honest game in the Valley, and each of us plays to our own ability as initially determined by your handicap index. Anyone can play and be competitive.
