Korean War Veterans

Chapter Commander Leon “Skip” Johnson

A little change is good, and it is nice to return to our normal scheduling of meetings starting to all fall into place for our organization, as well as for the many other clubs in our local communities. Our meetings for the Korean War Veterans are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month, starting promptly at 11 a.m., and are held in the backroom of the IHOP restaurant located in the Target Shopping Center off Arizona Avenue, in Chandler. When possible, we do have guest speakers who attend and help keep us up to speed on benefits that may be available and things of interest that we may be unaware of that could be beneficial to follow up on.

With the holiday season rapidly approaching and the many visitors, friends, and family coming into play, the area becomes alive. The unexpected is never predictable, and in times of need, it may be wise to have our commander’s phone number handy, as the club does maintain a large assortment of medical supplies that can be made available in the event of an unexpected emergency. Newly added to this inventory are two electric wheelchairs that can be made available to someone who is either handicapped or has a temporary disability requiring a need for added mobility for a short period of time.

For any questions regarding the club’s activities, available medical equipment, or anything else, please feel free to call our chapter commander, and he’ll be happy to help you or get you in touch with one of the members who has access to additional information on anything mentioned above. He can be reached at 970-481-3005. For information regarding club membership, feel free to call our commander listed or, better yet, know you are always welcome to drop in to one of our monthly club meetings. Another option is to join us at lunch where a group meets weekly at the IHOP restaurant on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. All veterans are always welcome.
