The details aren’t certain, but attendees at the Sun Lakes Democratic Club (SLDC) may be in for a big surprise at their Monday, May 13, meeting.

While the potential mystery guest isn’t a scam, those attending the meeting will hear from Chris Donahue, an expert in scam recognition and identity theft recovery. Donahue’s background in the military, law enforcement, and corporate security will be at the forefront of his presentation on scam recognition and identity theft recovery.

Continuing with “identities,” Sharon Winters, a retired teacher and Democratic candidate for AZ Senate, LD 13, will share who she is and her reasons for running for office. With degrees from Illinois State University and the University of Texas, she will discuss her platform on women’s rights, voter rights, and public education.

Running for a spot in the AZ House in LD 13 is Nicholas Gonzales, an urban planner and business owner in Chandler. Gonzales, a graduate of Chandler High School and ASU, will share his platform that emphasizes women’s reproductive rights, public education, and affordable housing.

Joining Gonzales in a run for the AZ House, also in LD 13, is Chandler resident Brandy Reese. Reese, a forensic scientist and graduate of Oklahoma University, will discuss her platform which, among other causes, includes public education and women’s rights.

Rounding out the evening and not running for re-election in LD 13 is AZ House member Jennifer Pawlik who will provide an update on the legislature, the state’s budget, and when the session might end.

Don’t forget to check the SLDC Facebook page for more information on the mystery guest as the meeting draws nearer.
