Desert Valley Veterans

Commander Rich Volpe

Getting back to business after a busy, warm summer and the initial meeting of the Desert Valley Veterans organization, we normally try to participate in a few fundraising activities to help maintain the inventory we always have on hand to help those in need. Our only income comes from membership dues, and these fundraisers are used for maintaining the inventory we keep on hand and the purchase of new products that are required to satisfy our main goal of providing help and support to veterans and others in need.

Although we only meet monthly during the year from October through April, our doors are never closed to those who need help or support. Several of our club members will be spending their time volunteering on Nov. 1 through Nov. 3 at Mesa Market Place as a major part of one of these fundraisers. Mesa Market Place is a popular landmark around the Valley, and if the timing is right, we would love to have you stop by. You won’t be disappointed, as Mesa Market Place has just about anything you may be looking for. Proceeds obtained from this outing will be used to help defray the cost of our warehousing and required supplies, including batteries for electric wheelchairs and scooters as needed.

New members of all branches of the service are always welcome to become members of our club. Our meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at Sun Lakes Country Club. Meetings start at 10 a.m. The meeting location is off of Riggs Road in the main building as you enter Sun Lakes Country Club. Our next meeting is scheduled for Nov. 27.

Please feel free to call our commander at 480-802-2532 if you have questions relating to our club or our inventory of equipment we have on hand for those in need, or social activities that several of our members participate in frequently.
