Recently, the SunBird Garden Club and the SunBird Canadian Club joined funds to improve a small plot of golf course land located on the northwest corner of SunBird Blvd. and Cypress Point. Barb Ott and Pat McGonegle, Garden Club members, supervised the project. The layout features a dry riverbed, several desert hearty plants and rock of different sizes. A ridge of larger rocks outlines the area and helps to keep the smaller stones in place during rainstorms. This is a good gardening hint to keep gravel in your yard if there is a slope to your lot.
Thanks again to the Canadians for donating to this project. We appreciate all donations, large or small, to help us continue to maintain and improve areas that belong to both the SunBird HOA and SunBird Golf Inc. This is what keeps SunBird beautiful.
Weeding, watering and renovations continue all year long but business meetings for the SunBird Garden Club are suspended for the summer.
Plan on joining us on November 11 as we begin our 2016-2017 season.
