What a busy month. First, on February 10 and 17, was the Stolhiem Cup, where the Canadian ladies (and friends) competed with the American ladies for the Stolhiem Championship. The first week the Americans were ahead, but by the time the tally was totaled and lunch was finished on the second week, the Canadian ladies (and friends) won. All agreed it was a great competition (and fun) and voted to do it again next year.
On February 23 and February 26, the ladies had Home and Home games with Sunland Village East. The day started (at each course) with coffee and donuts or muffins, golfing and then great lunches. The same foursome played together both at SunBird and at Sunland East. The winners were Joyce Gerber and Barb Wallace from SunBird .
The event was so much fun we will continue it next year. The lucky winners will be the chairpersons of the Home and Home next year on February 23 and 26, 2016.
On March 26 the ladies and Men 18ers, will play together and then there will be the annual award luncheon after the game.
On February 17 Connie Franklin had a hole-in-one on No. 11. Wendy Cameron also had a hole-in-one on February 11 on No. 13. Congratulations, Connie and Wendy.
At our luncheon February 3 the new officers for the coming year were elected. They are President Cindy Vig, Vice President Karen Gilmore,—Secretary Heather Verbitsky and Treasurer Jane Sirois.
