April will be the last month for the volunteers to pick fruit. The fruit picking team picks fruit every Tuesday morning starting at 8:30 a.m., and they are usually finished picking by 10:30 a.m. They bring the fruit to the clubhouse for everyone to enjoy.
If you have fruit trees that you would like to have picked and donate your fruit to our residents, please call the office at 480-802-4901 to be put on the list. Not everyone will be picked on that day, but they will continue to pick every Tuesday until the end of April.
The volunteers work very hard doing this service for our residents. Please make sure that after your fruit is picked that you have your fruit trees thinned out in the middle, and top if they are too tall to reach with a ladder. This prevents the volunteers from getting scraped and scratched up. If trees are not groomed, they will not be able to be picked by the volunteers next year.
