On behalf of the directors and chorus members, we send a hearty “thank you” to everyone who attended one of the Christmas concerts in December. We greatly appreciate both your attendance and your financial contributions. Those contributions are our sole source of funds used to purchase music and supplies. Rehearsals begin on January 7 for the spring concerts which will be March 6 and 7. The theme of the concerts is “Celebrate with Music.” You will enjoy some familiar melodies in new arrangements, at least one instrumental solo and numbers by the SunBird Ringers. There will be more specific information about the music in a later article.
Rehearsals take place in the east end of the ballroom: the Ringers at 2:00 p.m. and the Singers at 3:00 p.m. Rehearsals are once a week and last until 5:00 p.m. All SunBird residents as well as residents of nearby communities are welcome to participate. No auditions are required, but if you want to participate and haven’t done so in previous seasons, it would be a good idea to contact one of the directors for further information. They are Pat Miler (480-707-3984), Kim Hanson (253-229-0453) and Mike Hanson (253-906-1743). All members should arrive at least 15 minutes before the starting time on January 7 so there will be time to register and receive your music.
