As this brief article is being written, the temperatures in Chandler are hovering in the high 90s and low 100s, and here in Michigan in the low 80s it is hard to believe that we are starting to talk about the winter golf season but nevertheless, it will soon be upon us. The first meeting of the SunBird Men’s Golf Association which will kick off the winter season will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. in the clubhouse ballroom. Meetings will continue to be held on the first Tuesday of each month, same time and place. The executive committee will meet at 8:00 a.m. in the Lakeview Room on the same Tuesdays. Members and newcomers alike are encouraged to attend and participate in the workings of the association.
For those that are not members or are new to SunBird, membership in the association provides an opportunity to play in organized tournaments each Thursday and to meet fellow golfers. The tournaments include gross/net stroke play, scrambles and other games at the discretion of the tournament committee. Membership also includes participation in the Arizona Golf Association GHIN handicap system.
