The SunBird Lions Club is getting ready for a busy end of 2023 and an exciting 2024. Welcome back to our snowbirds.
If you haven’t gotten your flag, please be sure to join the many residents who proudly display their flags for the holidays. Just call Lion Carol Zittle at 480-883-0958 or pick up a form at the clubhouse. Just pay your $40, and a flag will appear where you choose for every national holiday.
If you have eyeglasses, hearing aids, and/or cell phones you would like to donate to be refurbished for someone in need, you may leave them at the SunBird office or give them to any Lion.
Medical equipment is available by calling Lion Paula Warhoover at 618-806-2464. Acceptance of unneeded equipment is welcomed also. Pick-up or delivery is available by calling Lion Paula.
Before we know it, our Bingo games will be starting the first and third Friday of the month beginning in November. Please support this fundraiser, as we do so much for our community, and we need you in order to continue to do so. A snack bar will be available with coffee and water. We have many new games and also double the money on some games. Tell your family, friends, and neighbors to join us.
Save the dates for two fundraisers:
Barro’s Pizza on Riggs and McQueen Roads will be from 10 a.m. until closing on Thursday, Nov. 16. A percentage of the sales will go to SunBird Lions Club.
Manuel’s Mexican Restaurant on Arizona Avenue will also sponsor the SunBird Lions on Thursday, Dec. 7, from 11 a.m. until closing. A percentage of the sales will also go to SunBird Lions.
Get your friends, family, and neighbors and join in these fundraisers. The food is spectacular, and no cooking or clean-up is needed.
When purchasing a meal or whatever, just say that you would like to support the SunBird Lions, and they will do the rest. At the end of each fundraiser, we are notified about our generous checks we will receive.
