The SunBird Lions Club will be collecting clothing for the children going back to school at the Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary School. We are collecting new and gently used casual clothes such as light jackets, socks, blouses, shirts, shorts, dresses, and skirts. We are collecting for girls and boys in sizes 5 through 12. Gift cards and cash are also welcomed and can be given directly to any SunBird Lions Club member who will be sure it gets to the proper person at the school.
Please ask your friends and family members (especially those who have children and who may have outgrown children’s clothes that are still in very good condition) to share.
We would like to help those less privileged so they, too, can have nice clothing for their school year. All children want to look nice, be proud of their new outfit, and feel special in school.
There will be a container for your donations in the Copy Room in the SunBird clubhouse from June through September. Look for the SunBird Lions Club emblem. If pick-up is needed, please contact Lions Paula Warhoover at 618-806-2464 or Arlene Block at 602-618-5861.
