Overheard at the Irish Club Christmas party: “My wife still hasn’t told me what my New Year’s resolutions are.”
Well, folks, another year has passed, and the Irish Club is planning many entertaining things for 2023. Mark your calendars for Jan. 19. Judy Phillips has contacted Barleens for a dinner and show. The cost is $48 per person, and there’s a sign-up sheet in the Poster Room. Payment will be due at the Jan. 5 meeting. The Laughlin trip is scheduled for Feb. 27, returning on March 1. The sign-up sheet is in the Poster Room. There’s still room on the bus for any members who wish to go. It’s always a fun trip.
We still have no volunteers for vice president and secretary to take over the duties of these offices in 2023. Please consider volunteering.
December was a busy month for us. Our Christmas party was scheduled at Sun Lakes, Phase 1, on Dec. 17. We collected toys for Hartford School students, white socks for the homeless, and non-perishable food for St. Mary’s Food Bank. We welcomed two new members and two former members who rejoined the club. Welcome, folks.
At the December meeting, Sally Krupnik won the Dollar Game, and the 50/50 was shared by Deanna Calvert and President Val!
As we begin another year, I want to share this quote with our members: “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years.” —Abraham Lincoln
Happy New Year!
