The Sun Lakes Community Choir is once again planning their annual Spring Concert. The previous two concerts were Requiems, but this concert is a collection of beautiful choral music through the centuries. As a refresher, we will tell you that this choir is made up of singers—all volunteers—from many and varied groups and areas in and around Sun Lakes. The choir is brought together and directed by Cris Temple-Evans, who also directs the Sun Lakes United Methodist Church Choir and the Sun Lakes Chorale.
The choir comes together to introduce and educate folks in the far-reaching genres of music and will include lighthearted, recognizable numbers, as well as some slightly more “high-brow” musical numbers. No matter what genre of music you prefer—musicals, jazz, spiritual—there’s a pretty good chance we will perform a number from your favorite type. It is our goal to enrich the lives of those who attend through centuries-old, decades-old, and some more modern music, all in the hopes of bringing you around to our belief that music soothes the soul.
This year’s concert will be on Sunday, April 7, at 4 p.m. in the sanctuary of Sun Lakes United Methodist Church, 9248 E. Riggs Road, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248.
As in the previous concerts, there is no admission fee, but your donations are greatly appreciated, as this concert is made possible through the funds of a generous grant.
Please come and enjoy the concert. We look forward to performing for you.
