Annual SunBird Midweek Car Show

Wednesday, March 1, Waterview Parking Lot, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Come early and park your car, then grab a coffee or enjoy breakfast before the show at our Horizon Room restaurant. There will be a Lions Club 50/50 raffle, “Favorite of the Show” Award, lunch (hot dogs/hamburgers with potato chips), and a drink will be available for purchase on the patio. American Red Cross Blood Drive

Thursday, March 2, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Save a Life, Give Blood! The need for blood is constant, and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds, and most of us will need blood in our lifetime. SunBird Lions Bingo

Friday, March 3 and 17, Ballroom, 5:30 p.m.

SunBird Lions Bingo is in full swing! As usual, our season runs from November through April on the first and third Friday. Ticket sales begin at 5:30 p.m., and the first game begins at 6:30. There are 15 games nightly. We hope you will join us!

Live Music! featuring Harley Davidson

Live in the Horizon Room … the first Friday of every month … Harley Davidson! Don’t miss this fun-filled night of live acoustic music and humor. Harley will surely keep you dancing and entertained!

Kare Bear Fair

Saturday, March 4, Ballroom, 8 a.m. to noon

Free admission, lots of vendors, white elephant table, arts and crafts, and many unique gift items! This will be the last Kare Bear fair until November. We hope to see you there!

Venture Out Swing Band

Sunday, March 5, Ballroom, 3:30 p.m.

We are the Venture Out Swing Band, a 17-piece big band that will make you want to stand up and “cut a rug.” Come and listen to us play big band songs of the ‘20s, ‘30s, ‘40s, and ‘50s. “Sing, Sing, Sing,” “Little Brown Jug,” “Mood Indigo,” “Ballin’ the Jack,” to name a few. Then we’ll stick in a song or two that brings back memories of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s; Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline,” “Proud Mary,” and “At the Hop.” Feel the beat and tap your toes to our Big Band Sound. Benny Goodman, look out! We accept good-will offerings in cash, which we will use to buy additional music and to support local school music programs.

A night with Fame Trivia is an exciting evening full of fun questions, music and audience participation, creating a competitive fun-filled environment making you want to come back and play again! Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Get your green on and join us for live music in the Horizon Room featuring The Boondocks! You don’t want to miss this fantastic acoustic duo from Mesa. They will deliver songs from the ‘60s through today and will surely keep you dancing and entertained! We hope to see you there!

Interactive Trivia Game Show Night

Did you miss SunBird’s first Interactive Game Show Night? Well, here’s your chance to come see what all the hype was about! Grab your smartphone and join us on Tuesday, March 21, at 7 p.m. in the ballroom for our second Interactive Trivia Game Show Night! Put together a team of up to 10 of your friends and neighbors or meet new friends and join in on a table. Come up with a fun team name (optional). Perhaps decorate your table with a team theme. Will your team come in costume (optional)? Think Let’s Make A Deal. Prizes will be awarded for Best Dressed Team and Best Theme Decorated Table! Tickets for this fun, interactive evening are only $15 per person, available at the HOA office. Do you just want to be a spectator? We will have tickets available for our “Peanut Gallery” for only $5, which may also be purchased at the HOA office. Full cash bar, pre-packaged snacks only.

TAD Management presents Breakdown – The Ultimate Tribute to Tom Petty

Thursday, March 23, Ballroom, 7 p.m.

Take a trip into the vast world of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers with one of the finest tribute shows on the planet. Breakdown, the Ultimate Tribute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, is as near a real experience as can be delivered by anyone other than the actual band. Scott Blackwell replicates the voice of Tom Petty and, combined with the look and style, you’ll think you’re watching Tom himself. Breakdown is comprised of five professional musicians who have created and refined the look and sounds of a Tom Petty concert. Breakdown has performed in hundreds of venues over the years, to include casino shows, concert halls, festivals, and private events. Some of the highlights of their resume include the PF Chang’s Rock & Roll Marathon, the Tempe New Year’s Block Party, opening for Lou Graham of Foreigner, and playing the 2007 Westgate Super Bowl Party for over 9,000 concert-goers. Friday Fun Bingo

Friday, March 24, Ballroom, 7 p.m.

Join us for this awesome activity! This is not your everyday Bingo! Bring your friends, come socialize, enjoy great music, and have fun! We’ll be playing five games, only $1 per game! You can play all five games or just one, play one card or as many as you’d like, the choice is yours! Friday Fun Bingo is for SunBird members and authorized guests only. Please be sure to bring your SunBird ID for entry. If you do not have an ID, please stop by the HOA office to get one. Due to the popularity of this fun event and in order to accommodate SunBird members, the number of guests SunBird members may bring is limited to two (2) guests per household. SunBird members, along with their guests, must all be together when entering the ballroom. Additionally, the SunBird Maintenance Team has set up the ballroom for this event. Please do not take it upon yourself to set up any additional tables and chairs. Have fun, and good luck!

Let’s GLOW crazy … we’re having a party! Be sure to join us for SunBird’s Neon Night Party and Outdoor Concert to be held on Saturday, April 1. This free community event will feature live music by Renaissance Recording Artist Dina Preston Band, beer gardens, food trucks, 50/50 raffles, and lots of fun! You don’t want to miss this event! The Neon Night Party is open to SunBird residents and guests only. SunBird residents will be required to show their SunBird ID to obtain a wristband for entry for themselves as well as their guest(s); $10 per guest. Stay tuned for further details.
