SunBird Annual Meeting

The purpose of this meeting is to report to the membership the operations of 2020 (postponed from March 2021). All are welcome to attend.
Cottonwood, AZ Bus Trip
Thursday, Nov. 4, bus will depart SunBird approx. 8:30 a.m.
Nestled in the heart of the Verde Valley, Cottonwood is one of Arizona’s most charming small towns. The main street was created in 1908 by a mule team and was eventually lined with businesses, hotels, bustling shops, and rowdy saloons during the mining days. Today the main street is still attracting locals and visitors with its casual atmosphere, unique shops, wine and spirit tasting rooms, and an attractive food scene. While there, you’ll have approximately four hours to spend on your own. Stroll along Main Street, grab a bite to eat, browse through antiques, or step into an art gallery. With a mild climate year-round, you’ll also find plenty of outdoor cafes and dining options. Tickets are currently available at the HOA Office for $35 per person, includes bus transportation (does not include driver gratuity).
SunBird Lions Bingo
Friday, Nov. 5 and 19, Ballroom, 5:30 p.m.
SunBird Lions Bingo is back for another exciting season. After missing everyone for a one-and-a-half years, we are ready to welcome you back. As usual our season runs from November through April on the first and third Friday. Ticket sales begin at 5:30 p.m., and the first game begins at 6:30. There are 15 games nightly. Prize money will double if a player gets a bingo on the designated number of calls on all games except the Jackpot game (the winner of the jackpot gets all the money anyway). See you on Nov. 5.
Kare Bear Fair

Free admission, over 60 vendors, white elephant table, arts and crafts, and many unique gift items! First Saturday of the month; November, December, and February—see you there!
Live Music! Featuring Harley Davidson

Harley Davidson will be live in the Horizon Room! Come dance and sing to his diverse playlists. This is guaranteed to be a fun-filled night that you don’t want to miss.
Sunday Funday Football Party

“The Fish” Jeff Aaron will be hosting a Sunday Funday Football Party that you don’t want to miss! Bring your friends, grab a bite to eat from our “Tailgate Menu,” and enjoy ice cold beverages as we cheer on the Cardinals vs 49ers, Packers vs Chiefs, and the Chargers vs Eagles. There will be sports boards, football trivia, halftime blackjack, and raffle tickets. “It’s not about the game, it’s all about the party.” We hope to see you there!

Be part of this inaugural event! SunBird CommUNITY Green Wine & Beer Tasting will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. in The SunBird Ballroom. Taste four different types of California wine or local Arizona beers. Enjoy hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, desserts, games, music, raffles, and more! Tickets are $35 if purchased by Oct. 29 and $40 from Oct. 30 to the day of the event. We hope to see you there!

Bar Bingo

Join us in the Horizon Room for this awesome activity. This is not your everyday bingo! Bring your friends, come socialize, enjoy great music, and have fun. We’ll be playing five games, only $1 per game. You can play all five games or just one, play one card or as many as you’d like, the choice is yours. We hope to see you there!

“All Hail the Queen!” Charity Lockhart, hailed as one of the finest vocalists in the country, stars in this spectacular homage to one of the greatest female vocalists of all time, Aretha Franklin. This stunning concert stars the immensely talented Charity Lockhart, accompanied by her spectacular 10-piece band as they celebrate the legendary life and music of Aretha Franklin. Tickets are $20 per person and currently available at the HOA Office. Full cash bar, pre-packaged snacks only.
SunBird’s 23rd Annual Community Day

Stop by the SunBird Ballroom and check out the local vendors, clubs, classes, and more! Have lunch on the patio (available to purchase) while enjoying all your favorite tune. Raffle prizes, freebies from participating vendors, and much more! This event is open to the public.

Join us in the Horizon Room for a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (reservations required). The buffet will include: turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, dinner roll, choice of apple or pumpkin pie, and a glass of sparkling cider. Join us for a FREE movie night in the Ballroom. Based on the popular board game, this comedy begins at a dinner party hosted by Mr. Boddy (Lee Ving), where he admits to blackmailing his visitors. These guests, who have been given aliases, are Mrs. Peacock (Eileen Brennan), Miss Scarlet (Lesley Ann Warren), Mr. Green (Michael McKean), professor Plum (Christopher Lloyd), Mrs. White (Madeline Kahn), and Col. Mustard (Martin Mull). When Boddy turns up murdered, all are suspects, and together they try to figure out who is the killer. Richie V will have hot dogs and drinks available for purchase.
