Desert Winds Concert Band

Sunday, March 1, Ballroom, 7 p.m.

The Desert Winds Concert Band will be returning to SunBird on Sunday, March 1, at 7 p.m. for a wonderful evening of music. You will hear a variety of marches, showtunes, and other traditional concert band music to create an evening of fun and excitement while bringing back memories of music you have always enjoyed. This is a free concert; however, donations are graciously accepted to help defray expenses for new music and equipment. The Desert Winds Concert Band is made up of about 40 to 45 senior musicians from many states and Canada. They are all volunteers under the direction of Bob Meyers who was a band director in New Mexico before retiring and moving to Arizona. We hope you will join us!

Annual Membership Meeting

The purpose of this meeting is to report to the membership on the operations of 2025. All are encouraged to attend.

Randy Linder is recognized as one of the nation’s premier tributes to John Fogerty, the voice behind the unmistakable and popular sound of Creedence Clearwater Revival. Performing from Seattle to New York, also in Las Vegas and further south, Randy and his fabulous band have entertained audiences with hits like “Born on the Bayou,” “Proud Mary,” “Down on the Corner,” “Susie Q,” “Who’ll Stop the Rain,” and many more. Mid-Week Car Show

Wednesday, March 4, Waterview Parking Lot, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Come early and park your car, then grab a coffee or enjoy breakfast before the show in our Horizon Room restaurant. There will be a Lions Club 50/50 raffle, “Favorite of the Show” Award, lunch (hot dogs/hamburgers with potato chips), and a drink will be available for purchase on the patio. Bean Bag Baseball

Bean Bag Baseball is in full “swing”! Join us at 4 p.m. in the ballroom for our “winter” series and for a fun night of baseball. Play will continue through April. SunBird Lions Bingo

SunBird Lions Bingo is in full swing! As usual, their season runs through April on the first and third Friday of the month. Ticket sales begin at 5:30 p.m., and the first game begins at 6:30 p.m. There are 15 games nightly. They hope you will join them!

SunBird Irish Club 2026 St. Patrick’s Day Dinner, Dance, and Basket Raffle

American Red Cross Blood Drive

Save a Life, Give Blood! This March, the American Red Cross is encouraging donors to spring into action and give blood, platelets, or AB Elite plasma! As thanks for supporting their lifesaving mission, successful March donations will get free A1C testing, commonly used to screen for prediabetes and diabetes (one result per calendar year). They’re also showing their thanks with a $15 Amazon gift card by email*. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds, and most of us will need blood in our lifetime. SunBird Irish Club St. Patrick’s Day Golf Cart Parade

Tuesday, March 17, Waterview (by the large pool), 2:30 p.m.

Decorate your golf cart for a fun parade through the SunBird community. Judges will choose the best decorated carts for prizes. All SunBird residents are welcome! We’ll start lining the carts up at 2:30 p.m., and the parade will begin at 3 p.m. Residents can cheer on and enjoy the parade from their homes while the carts drive the parade route.

The SunBird Irish Club would like to invite SunBird residents to join them for a fun day at Spring Training as the Cubs take on the Brewers. Join us in the Horizon Room as local artist Kaui Wilson helps to create a masterful painting on canvas while sipping, laughing, and socializing. She will provide step-by-step instruction to those who need very specific direction and take you through your masterpiece from start to finish in a series of small and simple (but very detailed) steps. This will be a fun and entertaining art class. No experience is necessary! All art supplies and instruction are provided, and we’ll include one glass of wine! (Food and additional beverages are not included.) Tickets are only $38 per person and are available at the HOA office. Please register at the HOA office by Wednesday, March 25.

Friday Fun Bingo

Join us for this awesome activity! This is not your everyday Bingo! Come socialize, enjoy great music, and have fun! We’ll be playing five games for only $1 per game! You can play all five games or just one, play one card or as many as you’d like, the choice is yours! All proceeds from Bingo will be paid out directly to members. Friday Fun Bingo is for SunBird members and authorized guests only. Please be sure to bring your SunBird ID for entry. If you do not have an ID, please stop by the HOA office to get one. Due to the popularity of this fun event and in order to accommodate SunBird members, the number of guests SunBird members may bring is limited to two guests per household. SunBird members, along with their guests, must all be together when entering the ballroom. Additionally, the SunBird Maintenance Team has set up the ballroom for this event. Please do not take it upon yourself to set up any additional tables and chairs. Have fun, and good luck!
