Scandinavian Club Features the Keyboard Connection

The Keyboard Connection is an East Valley favorite.

Maynard Iverson, Historian

Scandinavian Club SEV members are due for a special treat at the Dec. 19 meeting, to be held in the Arizona Room at Sun Lakes Country Club (Phase 1). The Keyboard Connection will provide Christmas music for the pleasure of attendees. This talented group of local ladies has performed for numerous organizations in the Valley. In addition to playing traditional holiday songs, the group will also lead a Christmas sing-along!

Director Jeanette Cline, a longtime resident of Sun Lakes, formed the group in 2014 as a community service musical ensemble. Any women who are interested in playing piano or keyboard music are welcome to join the group. All levels of skill, from beginner to advanced, are represented in the ensemble. Keyboard Connection’s goal is to entertain and put the audience into the Christmas spirit!

The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. with Nordic appetizers, provided free of charge by the club, and a cash bar made available by SLCC. For casual perusal, Butch Hall will have set up the club’s Open House display, which consists of flags, artifacts, and literature for the five Scandinavian countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. Participants new to the club will be introduced, and a delicious buffet will be provided, starting at 6 p.m. The Keyboard Connection will perform at 7 p.m. At the end of the program, Chordaires member and past club president Chris Roen will lead the group in singing “God bless America.” Participants will be on their way home by 8 p.m.

A choice of two entrees will be provided, but this must be specified in the reservation. Also, special (medically-dictated) diets can be accommodated if specified in the reservations. Dinners are $20 per person, payable upon arrival. Please note: Reservations are required! Please make them by Friday, Dec. 9, with Jerry Johnson at [email protected] or 612-817-9670.
