New landscaping around the Roadrunners Golf and Social Club memorial bench
In early April the Roadrunners Golf and Social Club was authorized to start a landscape improvement project for their memorial bench which is located on the SunBird golf course next to the number 11 tee box. The project plan was approved and with help from Roadrunner members Gary Whistler, Gary Dreyer and Bill Johnson and with assistance from golf course superintendent Rick Lantgen and his crew, the project was started. Suggestions and actual hands on assistance by Roadrunner members and Garden Club President Alice Whistler provided the finishing touches of plantings and decorative rocks around the bench. The improved landscaping around this memorial bench aligns nicely with the current golf course landscaping used around the new tee markers and other areas of the golf course and it makes it easier for the golf course staff to maintain this area.
