The SunBird Pickleball Club would like to give a huge shout-out to Dan and Marianna Buescher for coordinating an extremely successful Pickle4Purple tournament. Their commitment to raise funds to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s is inspiring! Thank you and well done, Dan and Marianna! Look for all the details about this event in Marianna’s article in this paper.

The Pickleball Year-End Round Robin and lunch was held March 9. Players enjoyed fun games, followed by lunch on the patio. Longtime club member Walt Kinney was honored for his willingness to go above and beyond to help at events. You will often find Walt working behind the scene in the early morning hours providing donuts and hot coffee for players and volunteers. Walt graciously handles clean-up with a smile. Special thanks to Walt for his many years of service! The club appreciates your generosity! Thanks to Pete Prucha for his donation of Gearbox prizes for our year-end event. The Horizon Room provided a yummy taco bar, and a great time was had by all!

Winter open play hours continued through March 31 and will change on April 1. Check the glass case by the courts or TeamReach for hours. Using the attendance feature on TeamReach helps us all. Please sign up so others know who plans to play.

Want to learn how to play? Fill out a lesson request form, pay for the lesson, and drop it in the HOA drop box or turn it in to a Pickleball Board member. Lesson cost is $20.

See you on the courts!
