Patrol Report

Why does GPS (Global Positioning System) give wrong directions? Bad satellite signals and signal interference are some of the most common glitches. Without a clear and strong signal, your device cannot accurately establish your location. So, why am I telling you this? GPS systems are hard to understand or hard to untangle, but if we get everyone who has one to the right gate, then we can avoid any damage done to our gates or to the driver’s vehicle. If you have a family member, guest, visitor, or a contractor scheduled to come to your house, then please advise them to report to the main front gates at Championship Drive and Riggs Road to check in with the gate attendant or to gain access properly while the guard house is closed. In addition, please also instruct everyone planning on arriving at the guard house to be prepared to give the gate attendant a residential address to help facilitate and speed up vehicle traffic entering SunBird.

Are record breaking temperatures going to bake the Southwest U.S. again this summer? It might be only May, but summer weather is already baking the Desert Southwest and bringing triple-digit heat. As much as Valley residents seem to treat the heat as no big deal, or at worst a mild annoyance, it is a serious health risk. Remember that in an Arizona summer, consider a very cold bottle of water to be your most important fashion accessory. Some ways to avoid heat illness include staying indoors, wearing lightweight clothes in light colors, taking regular breaks, and naturally, drinking a lot of water. If you do not take care when exercising in the heat, you risk serious illness. Both the exercise itself and the air temperature can increase your core body temperature. During hot weather exercise, watch for signs and symptoms of heat-related illness. If you develop any symptoms while out walking and you happen to see the SunBird Patrol, flag us down, and we would be more than happy to transport you to the clubhouse or back to your house to get you out of the heat and cooled down. Always keep our phone number accessible: 480-797-8605. Wishing everyone a safe and healthy summer!
