Voting on Change of Use of the Land for Bocce Ball Court Project
About a year and a half ago a temporary bocce ball court was installed at the open space property near the intersection of Championship and Kerby Farms. Many people have enjoyed playing the game either as part of the newly formed bocce ball club or as individuals. Social clubs have even implemented this game as part of their groups’ activities.
The response has been great and the need for a second court became obvious. The Association would like to construct two permanent concrete courts with artificial grass and a small picnic area (referred to as the “Bocce Ball Court Project”). The cost for the Bocce Ball Court Project would be approximately $12,000, paid out of the Special Project account which receives its funding from new home sales and currently has sufficient funds. No special assessment will be levied. Maintenance will be minimal.
The area in question is the flat portion of Unit 14, Tract D (drainage and open space) where the current temporary bocce ball court is now located. This does not affect drainage.
The purpose of this meeting is to vote on the Change of Use of the Land for Bocce Ball Court Project. A meeting of the membership is required to be called in order to have a vote on this matter. Realizing many SunBird residents are not in town, ballots for this will be included with the second half association billing notice mailed June 1. Further information and voting instructions will be provided. Attendance at this meeting is not necessary; however, your vote does count. If a ballot is not received or if you have any questions, please contact the SunBird office.
