Five Ways to Get Ready for the Season
It’s a magical time of year for golfers. It’s the end of summer, and the snowbirds are starting to return.
1. Audit Your Clubs
Before you take your first swing after overseed, make sure to give your clubs a good once over. Treat them to a good cleaning, and it’s also a good time for a re-grip. Check out our gripping options in the Golf Shop!
2. Get a Refresher Lesson
You can call the Golf Shop for details for an individual or group lesson. Free lessons are on Nov. 20 and 27 and Dec. 4 at 3 p.m., on the driving range.
3. Set Goals and Expectations
Setting goals is a great way to begin your season. These can be tied to anything: handicaps, tournament wins, less thrown clubs, having more fun, duffing fewer chips. However, make sure to set goals that are achievable, and then start to plan on how you go about exceeding them.
If you want to shoot lower scores, are you going to practice more? Get a lesson? All things to get you to where you want to be in your game.
4. Plan Your Schedule
A schedule isn’t just for the pros! If you are a member or just the average golfer, make sure you are aware of events at the Golf Club and HOA. Pencil these in early to avoid disappointment closer to the time of the event.
5. Enjoy Yourself
Perhaps the most important thing you should do is the simplest. Just have fun and enjoy being back on the course.
