We’re already looking forward to when the snowbirds return, but in the meantime, we “fulltime residents” keep on learning and dancing line dances. We’re just happy we are an “indoor activity with A/C.” We don’t dance in July and August. We return on Monday, September 2, 2019 (yes, Labor Day). If you would like to register for the Ultra Basic Class and start with us on the above date, call 480-802-0201 after 10:00 a.m. You will learn steps, patterns, line dances and meet some of the nicest people. You will be glad you made the call, because you will not only be exercising your body, but line dancing is great for “keeping the mind working.”
People who come to me learn many dances, but they are not those seen at the local dances in the area. I explained this to someone who was registering for my classes. She thought she would learn dances from me and go to the local dances and dance them. I know they usually dance “Elvira,” “Electric Slide” and “Cupid Shuffle.” However, I also know some people go as a group, and they dance dances they have learned and they decided to “go dancing.” Some dancers are taught a dance at the dance by the musicians for the evening. There are “millions” of line dances that people can choose to dance. Several “groups of dancers” can be dancing, and they are probably all dancing a different dance.
Most of the dancers who dance with me know they will learn line dances that I choose to teach. Most of them also know that my goal for them is to learn the dances I teach, enjoy dancing them in class while exercising their bodies and minds and have fun with the people who choose to dance with me. Most of them know and appreciate how and why I teach Line Dancing. They are the ones who motivate me to continue after 20 years. God Bless Line Dancing!
