When counting my blessings all I have to do is look at the class lists with the names of the current dancers. The attendance support is appreciated, but the biggest support that amazes me the most is the concern these dancers have shown when I have hiccups in life, my husband Al has hiccups in life, and when words don’t come out exactly as they should when calling a dance.
One word can throw off a whole “8” in a dance. I could just say “follow” but that is not how I have taught line dancing for over 15 years. There is another blessing that I need to count because the dancers who have chosen to learn line dancing with my method of teaching are improving each time I see them in class. The reward for me and mostly for them is to see the smiles on their faces when they realize what a great job they have done and are actually having fun while learning.
If you want to try my method of teaching, we would love to have you join us on January 5 when we restart after our holiday break or when your schedule allows. You will be taught what you are doing with your feet by consistent words when a dance is taught. Dancers that choose to register with my classes have the opportunity to attend twice a week and also have the gift of Free Steps and Patterns classes monthly to reinforce what is learned in classes.
Regular Ultra Basics classes are Mondays in the SunBird Ballroom at 1:15 p.m.; check-in for the 1:30-2:30 p.m. class for $2 (correct change please to help faster check-in). Saturdays are used to redo dances that need a second teach. This class is in the Navajo Room, upstairs in the Clubhouse at SunBird, same time and charge. Yes, if you are reading this, you may register. Call Judee Curtis at 480-802-0201 after 10:00 a.m. before Monday, January 5 or before the day you can start. You will be given directions to SunBird if you are not familiar with our development just east of Sun Lakes. Exercise, dance, have fun and escape with us from this crazy world!
