SunBird Kare Bears met in November and gifted St. Vincent de Paul with a generous array of canned goods, hygiene items, paper towels, and tissue. So much is needed by so many people. Some of our members volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul and know how desperately these items are wanted. Our KB members responded in abundance. Our speaker came from Neighbors Who Care.
December is a busy month for the Kare Bears. A second Kare Bears Fair is planned for Saturday, Dec. 3, commencing at 8 a.m. and running to noon. Members are asked to meet the prior evening to prepare for this event. Once again, we will have many vendors in attendance with their items for sale. These same vendors donate an item, which is given during the raffle drawing just before noon. The vendors bring t-shirts, jewelry, books, decorated rocks, cosmetics, fudge, scrubbies, Crystal Cards, Mary Kay, knitted items, glass etchings, woodwork, embroidered tea towels, candles, etc.—so many choices, and one way to accomplish some of your Christmas shopping. Support our vendors!
On Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 11:30 a.m., members will meet in the ballroom for a holiday luncheon. You are asked to bring a White Elephant gift, wrapped and worth about $5. You will find many choices for a White Elephant gift on the Kare Bears White Elephant table at the fair, especially if you work the Friday evening prior to the fair, as you are given first chance to see what’s available and purchase it. On Wednesday, Dec. 21, a general meeting is scheduled for all members in the ballroom commencing at 1 p.m.
The Kare Bears are planning a Style Show in the SunBird ballroom on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023. Our chairman will be contacting various groups in the community to ask them to participate in the Style Show. It takes a village to coordinate such an event, and it is truly enjoyed by those participating and those in attendance. You will see our advertisements, and tickets will be sold in the lobby after the new year.
Kare Bears will sponsor musical entertainment once again with “The Eagles” (TAD Management) in the ballroom on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023. Tickets will be $20 each. There will be a cash raffle. Drinks are available. We hope you will purchase a table for your friends to gather together for this event.
