Kare Bears monthly summer luncheons in the Horizon Room were a big hit!

Our first meeting of the season took place on October 21 with our new Board members, Bunny Bottorff, Barb Dunbar, Lari Thibeault, Judy Domenigoni and Holly Birds: a great opportunity to renew alliances with old friends and to welcome new members. If you were unable to attend, you are invited to join us at the November meeting. Membership dues are $5 annually and participation in our charitable enterprises offer great rewards. Plans for fundraisers for the year were submitted, promising ideas sure to inspire joy, pleasure and entertainment to the SunBird community. During our 2014-2015 season $11,670 was donated to SunBird projects and worthy charities.
A reminder that the annual SunBird Community Day will be held on Saturday, November 4. Kare bears will offer baked goods and candy for purchase, so look for our special table. We remind all of the Kare Bears to bake up recipe favorites for this event. We are also donating a basket for the HOA raffle.
The first of four Kare Bear fairs for the season will be held on November 7 from 8:00 a.m.-12:30 pm. The fairs are open to the public so please invite your friends and neighbors to attend. More than 30 outside vendors will offer their unique and innovative creations for sale. The white elephant table will be available with many items that will delight, not bust your budget.
Our monthly Kare Bear meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 18 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ballroom. Sheryl Christianson, Senior Programs Manager from My Sister’s Place, a shelter of hope and protection for abused women, will be our speaker. Kare Bears has been a supporter of this agency for many years.
