What a pleasure it has been to see our area start to come back to life again, with families starting to get up and about, clubs starting to get back into full swing, and the weather making it pleasant to start enjoying life once again. The Short Line Model Railroad Club has jumped on the bandwagon and has kept really busy over the past month and a half. We’d especially like to thank you all for all the support you always show us, whether here or on the road, and always know it is well appreciated.
With the holidays just around the corner, we know there will be many friends and visitors showing up around the area. With all the decorating for the holidays and the magic that goes on at this time of the year, make sure you take advantage of these precious moments and enjoy whatever you like to do with close friends and family. Once again, Arizona Big Train Operators (ABTO) will be having open houses around the Valley for all you train enthusiasts, and there will be at least one opening up their impressive garden layout in Sun Lakes for those who are interested. Typically, at this time of the year, they will be open in the evenings during the first two weekends in December. Check their website www.azbigtrains.org for addresses and times for all around the Valley. If you have problems locating that information, give me a call, and I’ll try to help.
Lastly, for the young at heart, you may want to set aside an evening to run up the 101 to the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park run by the City of Scottsdale. They really do things right, getting into that holiday spirit with an amazing light display and a train ride that will take you and your friends on a trip through fantasy land. If you have any questions, do feel free to contact us at [email protected], at 480-802-4876, or if more convenient, text to 480-600-1349.
Have a great holiday season and stay safe.
