The SunBird Garden Club meets at 9 a.m. on the second Friday of the month, October through April. Due to Veterans Day, our November meeting was delayed a week. Our second meeting was attended by 30 members and guests. We welcomed Barbara Rowland Garcia who shared her talents and gave us an introduction on gourd artistry. Her display was beautiful to see and enjoyed by all.
Plans are underway for a February field trip to the 20th Annual Gourd Festival in Casa Grande!
We welcome new and returning members. On Jan. 13, our meeting will include a presentation from one of the volunteers here at SunBird who weaves rugs out of plastic bags for the homeless.
The Garden Club helps beautify our common areas and supplies the Rock of the Month prize program, as well as having educational speakers and activities throughout the year. Our membership fee is a modest $10 for the year. Watch for more information on our big event, the annual Home and Garden Tour in March and consider joining us!
