Every Thursday, Lois Schmidt sets up for unsanctioned duplicate bridge from noon to about 3:30 p.m. There are approximately four tables that swell to nine or more tables during the winter months and decrease to three or four tables as the snowbirds return to their summer homes. Duplicate bridge finished April 9 with a potluck offering of appetizers and snacks. This is a friendly group that meets in competition. There is a $1 entry fee for each session and all fees are paid out to the high point winners.

Lois posts via e-mail and in the SunBird Puzzle Room the standing of all participants for that Thursday session. Everyone is welcome to participate. Bring your own partner or ask Lois to place you with a partner. This is not a beginner’s bridge club, nor is it composed of all life masters. Duplicate bridge will begin again in the upstairs Navajo Room in November. Watch for a sign-up sheet in the Puzzle Room for the first session and plan to join us in the fall.
