Dementias are some of the most baffling conditions encountered by health providers and families. The questions above are just a few of the most common questions asked about Alzheimer’s and dementia as families struggle to care for a loved one. Geri Hall, PhD, ARNP, GCNS, FAAN, is an internationally-recognized expert in the recognition and care of people with dementing illnesses. Dr. Hall helps families understand dementing illnesses in plain language in order to make decisions and cope with changes.
Dr. Hall’s talk will be “Q & A: Seeking Help for Intellectual and/or Behavioral Changes in Dementias.” Retired from the Banner Alzheimer’s Institute, Geri developed, published and researched the first theoretical model for managing and preventing behavior problems in dementia. She has spoken extensively on her areas of expertise in many places, including Australia, South Korea and Ireland. She has more than 100 publications on the topic and has served on many panels and boards at regional and national levels. Dr. Hall will be taking questions from audience members as time allows.
The coffee will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 14, in Lindsay Hall at the Sun Lakes United Methodist Church on Riggs Road in Sun Lakes. The cost is $3, and no reservations are required.
