Desert Navy Update

Richard Volpe

As we head into the latter part of the 2021 year, we are fortunate to see that things are really starting to fall into place in the Sun Lakes area. Most clubs have already started to resume their normal activities, and several major events have already taken place in the October timeframe, and it appears that November will also continue that trend as we move on to the holiday season.

Desert Navy Members: With busy times, scheduling conflicts are always something that has to be considered. Because of conflicts with our staff, the November meeting is being moved to Nov. 18. The starting time will still be at 11 a.m. at the IHOP restaurant, and lunch is optional following the meeting. Sue and Pat will still greet you upon your arrival for the weekly 50/50 where a small $5 investment could have you walking away with your wallet a little bit fatter, and it helps the club, as half of the intake goes right back into the club’s treasury. Note that this change in the meeting date is a one-time change only, and future meetings will follow the normal scheduling.

The Tuesday lunches at IHOP are still a popular getaway for many. Members and spouses have become regulars, and it is a cool time to get involved in knowing each other and having some fun conversations. If interested, the time is 2 p.m. on Tuesdays at IHOP.

One of our key means of support for others is that our club has a wide range of medical equipment in storage that we do have available for those in need of medical equipment for emergency situations or just a temporary need following an accident.
