Sun Lakes United Methodist Church is hosting an afternoon of learning how to advocate for your own healthcare on Wednesday, Dec. 4, from noon to 4 p.m. in Lindsay Hall. Our expert speakers and panelists will outline the critical elements of self-advocacy necessary to manage every aspect of your well-being. They will provide step-by-step guidance focusing on the many aspects of life as age and illness bring change.
Dr. Kristin Bishop, Attorney Aaron Fransua, RN Legal Consultant/Advocate Polly Smith, and many others will enlighten you with facts about what our current medical state is and how to best navigate it.
Topics will include both how and when to advocate for yourself at the doctor’s office, hospital, and rehab, providing tips for the best experience in these situations. We will discuss the legal must-haves your family needs in crisis, unexpected change, and everyday routine. Medical experts will discuss alternative options to everyday medical struggles, chronic situations, the critical importance of the right kind of exercise, and more.
