For those new to Sun Lakes, you may not have heard of Crystal Cards (CC). This group of volunteers revitalizes used greeting cards into beautiful “new” cards and sells them for $1 each. The money from these sales is then donated to My Sister’s Place, a local domestic violence center. If you’re interested in volunteering, there are many ways to be involved with CC.
1. Donate your used greeting cards—the whole card, please. There are drop-offs at Cottonwood Library, Palo Verde Women’s Lounge, Sun Lakes Country Club Library, Oakwood clubhouse, SunBird Library, and Robson Reserve front desk.
2. Participate in our monthly workshops at the Cottonwood Ceramics Room from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
3. Host a card party with friends. Home delivery is an option for those unable to attend regular sales. Email us at [email protected] to schedule a date.
4. Help with sales. We hold sales at Oakwood, SunBird, Sun Lakes Country Club, and Robson Reserve.
5. Donate supplies. We use cardstock, colored typing paper, glue, tape, stickers—just about anything used in scrapbooking and card making. Monetary donations are also welcome.
