SunBird Quilters Carol Braaten, Delores McCarthy, and Heather Verbitsky are among six teams competing in a Scrap Happy Challenge, as they make quilts for less fortunate families. The group uses donated fabrics only and picks their own pattern, in sizes from baby to throw size. They invite you to join them from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursdays in the Hopi Room in the clubhouse.
The completed quilts will be in six categories and judged by four members of SunBird, then they will be donated to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
