The Community Church of SunBird is excited to participate again this year in Operation Christmas Child by partnering with Samaritan’s Purse. Our goal this year is to fill up to 150 boxes. The boxes have arrived and will be ready for pick-up beginning Sunday, Oct. 2. We are encouraging our members and anyone else in the community who would like to participate to begin now to gather shoebox items. You may choose to fill a box for a boy or a girl with the age brackets of 2–4, 5–9, and 10–14. If you are unable to shop for items, you may give a donation, and our team will shop for you and fill your box.
The children love to receive a friendly note in their boxes, too. Maybe some of you would like to write notes of encouragement to add to the boxes. We’d be grateful for your help and kind words. For more information, please call Linda Ward at 530-598-2220.
Once your shoebox is filled, simply bring it back to the Operation Christmas Child table on any Sunday by Nov. 6. More information on what to pack in the boxes can be found at samaritanspurse.org/occ.
