Now that fall has officially arrived and our winter residents are returning to wonderful SunBird, it’s time to start thinking chili! Yes, the Third Annual Chili Cook-Off is just around the corner. Please put Jan. 22 on your 2025 calendar. You truly won’t want to miss this event.
The cook-off begins at 5 p.m. in the SunBird ballroom and is part of the Founder’s Tournament Social, with doors opening around 4:30 p.m. for late check-ins. If you are playing in the tournament, this is part of your entry fee. Otherwise, for those not playing in the tournament, the cost is $10 per person and can be paid at the door.
There will be a lot of different tasty recipes of chili to try and judge during the fun evening, along with dessert. The bar will be open for libations and regular soft drinks. If there is anyone who would like to be a chili chef and compete for the Best Chili award, please contact our grandmaster chili chef Gary Hall at 303-378-5576. There will be a reminder and more info coming out in the January issue of the SunBird News.
