Canadians Rejoice

Ignoring the advice of our federal government, the Canadians have journeyed to their winter homes in Arizona. Once again, we have appreciated all SunBird has to offer and treated it as our “summer camp.”

COVID-19 has put a damper on our Canadian social gatherings. The annual Pork Loin BBQ was postponed for this year.

A survey conducted by Mike and Susan MacMillan showed that although many of us wanted to hold a golf tournament in March, the numbers were insufficient to meet the policy requirements of the golf club. We plan to revive it next year.

We are now approaching our return to our respective provinces, opening up our ArriveCan App, and navigating the ever-changing restrictions imposed to protect us from COVID-19. Precautions of the past two years appear to be easing gradually, and we look forward to a return to “normal.”

Nov. 17 is booked as a Canadian Welcome Back party on the patio. It will be a welcome back to our homes, to the friends we have missed, and to our annual events. It is anticipated that the cautious Canadians will feel comfortable socializing in the fall.
