Art Club Update

Sharon Eade

It’s hard to believe that we are turning our calendars to 2024! With the new year upon us, we welcome our returning artists and are so looking forward to adding new members to our club. This year we look forward to opening up our membership to add a broader range of artists who work in a variety of art forms. There are so many ways of expressing creativity, and the fun of sharing different mediums adds to the expansion of talents and learning from each other!

Our committees have worked towards new ways of learning and showcasing our work. This year our annual Art Show and Sale will be held on Saturday, Feb. 10, and to better serve our residents, we are going to be set up in the clubhouse hallway from 1 to 5 p.m., and we look forward to sharing our works and meeting with visitors and homeowners in a more relaxed setting.

Whether you are a new homeowner or have been a resident for years, it is always fun to discover new artwork to enhance our homes. And be sure to check out the display case outside the library where our artists showcase their individual works. The displays rotate throughout the year as we proudly share our joy of creating art with you. Also note that each year our club picks a challenge, and it is a lot of fun to see how each artist defines the subject. This year the theme is Arizona! That should bring all kinds of ways to express our wonderful state!

For anyone who would like to know more about our club, feel free to visit us in the Hopi Room, upstairs in the clubhouse on Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon, or contact Sharl Byrd at 480-390-2243 for more information.
