This season has been a busy one for our club. We welcomed new and returning members; attended art shows throughout the Valley; enjoyed meeting friends and new acquaintances at our annual Art Show in March; were fortunate to have Art Norby share his knowledge conducting two painting classes: 1) Georgia O’Keefe style and 2) Clouds, as well as introducing some of us to sculpting; the creative and “fun” ideas from our founder Irene Coatta, including a class on portraits; and, of course, the best part—coming together every Thursday morning in the Hopi Room as we all pursue our individual projects.
Our members continue to share their works in the showcase located in the lobby of the clubhouse by the library, and were honored to be asked to do projects for Sun Lakes! With the slower pace of summer, our numbers are less, but those of us here continue to meet every Thursday, and welcome anyone who would like to join us in a smaller and even more relaxed atmosphere to come check us out. Here’s to an enjoyable summer to all!
