‘Tis the season—at last! This has been quite a challenging year and, hopefully, 2021 will restore some normalcy for everyone. To celebrate the season and share our blessings with the less fortunate, the Irish Club has planned the following events:
1. Our annual toy drive will take place on Dec. 15. Unwrapped gifts for the children from Hartford School will be collected on the patio between the hours of noon to 4 p.m.
2. Continuing the donation to our homeless souls, we will again collect new, clean, white socks to be delivered to the Salvation Army, who will distribute them to the needy. These socks will be collected, along with the toys, on Dec. 15 between noon and 4 p.m., on the patio. Let’s “Sock It to COVID,” everyone.
3. Last, but not least, is the food donation to St. Mary’s Food Bank. There will be a sign and a decorated box in the clubhouse by the main entrance for any canned and/or non-perishable food, for the families who rely on the food bank for food, not just at Christmas, but throughout the year. Food donations will be accepted from Dec. 1 through 15.
In the past, all of our members have been overwhelmingly generous in donating to our three charities. Even though our meetings won’t resume until January (date to be determined later,) we can continue to support our charity causes which are so important and so appreciated by everyone in need.
May you all have a merry and blessed Christmas! As soon as the January date is finalized, you will be informed of the date and time of our first meeting of the new year. We hope to see everyone at this meeting to celebrate the new year together.
May God bless us, everyone.
