NIA (Non Impact Aerobics) is a joyful movement practice that conditions our bodies in a healthy, safe way. Created in 1983 based on the science of the body, NIA does not jump or jar our joints. With moves and music to inspire joy, the class draws from a blend of dance arts, martial arts and healing arts.
In class we use our NIA moves to help keep us flexible, agile, strong and healthy. Using the mind/body connection is important to help us moving in safe ways. Students in class have said, “Wow, I can feel my balance coming back to me;” “I love NIA. It keeps me thinking and using my brain to help my body;” and “I like the way NIA is different and not like any other fitness I have done in the past.”
Our bodies are made to move. Come to a class and see how NIA has been moving people for over 30 years!
