You can reduce your risk of exposure to toxic chemicals by reading the packaging on products to find these statements: nontoxic, biodegradable, chlorine-free, phosphate-free, non-petroleum based, vegetable oil based, fragrance-free and no dyes.
Use oxygen or hydrogen based bleaches instead of chlorine bleach which is harmful when released into the environment.
Buy products in concentrate when available. You’ll use less, making your cost per use much lower than it would be with a non-concentrated brand and you’ll be consuming less packaging.
The Going Green Committee will resume meeting again on Thursday, October 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ballroom. We’re looking for new members so if you are interested, come to our October meeting and see what we are all about.
