Many audience members had never experienced an improv show and The ImproVables gave them a taste of comedic shenanigans they delighted in. “I’m so sad it’s the last show of your season,” said an audience member. “I can’t wait to see the next one in the fall!” she added. The show began with a new game for the troupe, never played for an audience before. “… you might be a…” based on the old routines by Jeff Foxworthy, was a huge hit. Audiences particularly loved “…you might be a Sun Laker.” For example: “If you don’t know how to use a turn signal, you might be a Sun Laker.” Lots of different phrases were used and the wittiness of the lines was well-received.
The ImproVables actors and the audience enjoyed the evening from start to finish, with a high level of energy maintained throughout the show. “My face hurts from smiling and laughing so much,” said one attendee.
The ImproVables will return to performing at Sun Lakes in October, with shows scheduled for Oct. 10 at SLCC and Oct. 31 at Cottonwood.
