Stronger Ties with Chandler-Gilbert Community College

Kyle Messner

New Adventures in Learning is excited to share that our partnership with Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC) continues to grow in meaningful and energizing ways. This spring, several CGCC faculty members are offering engaging sessions that bring college-level expertise directly to our lifelong learners. Their involvement is helping us expand our program variety, deepen educational quality, and strengthen the vital connections between the college and our community.

We have already seen great success this semester with two unique classes led by talented CGCC faculty. Miguel Fernandez recently taught AI Use in the Everyday: Myths & Truths, where he broke down the complexities of artificial intelligence and offered practical tips for everyday problem solving. Additionally, Michael Ceschiat, CGCC’s ceramics faculty lead, hosted Make a Bowl, Make a Difference. In this session, participants learned foundational pottery skills while creating ceramic bowls to support the 2026 Empty Bowls project, directly contributing to local food insecurity efforts.

The collaboration continues this April at the Sun Lakes Center, with two highly anticipated sessions led by Drs. Al and Scott Silberman, both licensed psychologists:

Movie & TV Scenes About Aging (April 21 at 10 a.m.): This session invites attendees to watch short film and television clips and take part in an open discussion on how aging is portrayed on screen.

All I Have to Do Is Dream (April 28 at 10 a.m.): An exploration into the science of sleep and dreaming. This popular session includes plenty of time for participants to ask about their own dreams.

These collaborations enrich our curriculum and strengthen the bridge between CGCC and our lifelong learning community. We look forward to continuing, and expanding, this partnership in the semesters to come.
