Now that the wet and cooler temperatures have passed, let us all make a greater effort to slow down around the clubhouse due to more pedestrians walking around the clubhouse and in the neighborhood, not only in our cars, but in our golf carts as well. All golf carts should not exceed the 10 mph speed limit set for around the clubhouse.
I have spoken with Traffic Control with the City of Chandler, and they have changed the timing for the light at Riggs Road. So, with that being said, there is no reason to blow the stop sign at Augusta to make the light. If there are cars lined up to get out of the front gate, the light will stay green longer to enter onto Riggs Road. Also, there is no sensor in the pavement at the front gate to change the light to green. This is done by a camera mounted on the traffic light. So, pulling forward and backward at the front gate will not change the light to green any faster. With that in mind, don’t run the red light, because Big Brother is watching, and it will show that you are at fault if there happens to be an accident.
Patrol has been getting some calls in reference to Amazon delivery drivers in SunBird well after the front gates are closed for the night. What we have found is that some residents have put their gate code in the delivery instruction in the app for Amazon. These codes are getting passed around to the drivers who come in their private vehicles. So, if you go to your app under personal settings and click on your address, you will see a spot for delivery instructions. On that page, it will ask you for a security code. If you have put your personal gate code in that area, please change this to enter the Riggs Road gate. This will help with these drivers coming in late at night. If you have put your code in there, please come to the office to get a new gate code for your residence. Or if your code stops working, we may have shut your code off. These codes are for family and friends, not delivery drivers, contractors, or Amazon.
