On April 24, the SunBird Roadrunners Golf and Social Club gathered 50 members and guests to attend their Seventh Annual Poker Run. Beginning at the Horizon Room, the group drew their first of five cards from Sandy Barber and John Roberts. Proceeding to the second stop, hosted by Janet and George Richardson, the group enjoyed snacks and refreshments as well as drawing their second card from Irene Treece and Cliff Jondrow. The third stop was hosted by Kitty Determan and Jim Bickett, with Irene and John Schlenker administering their third card. Again, snacks, refreshments, and conversation were enjoyed there. The final destination was hosted by Sharon Van Gruensven and Hank Danelski where the fourth card was drawn, closely watched by Mary Alibrandi and Jack Miller. The fifth card was also drawn, with Jeanne and Russ Bower in charge. Sloppy Joes and dessert with refreshments and more conversation were in abundance. Finally, the winning five-card poker hands were decided. First place went to Cheryl Moore with three of a kind. Second place was Margaret O’Brien with a straight. Third place went to Vicky Baker with a full house.
Another successful poker run with lots of love and laughter was enjoyed by all. Thanks to all for making this another fun Roadrunner Golf and Social Club event.
