Tips from the Pro Shop

Gary Hodges, head pro

If all went well with the overseed, we are now back open for business. We will remain on the cart path only until the CRAB (Canadians, Roadrunners, Americans, and Bandits) Tournament on Nov. 14. Please remember that the CRAB auction which will take place on Friday, Nov. 13.

By now, most all our friends from the north should be here, and this can be your official welcome. We are looking forward to an exciting and eventful year.

For the rest of November, we will have 8 a.m. shotgun starts on Monday through Saturday, with tee times all day Sunday. This year, we will be having afternoon shotgun starts on Tuesday and Wednesday for 18-hole play, with tee times pm Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. This is an experiment to try to get more people on the course playing.

For the months of December and January, we will be starting at 8:30 a.m. instead of 9 a.m. which will move the afternoon times to 12:30 instead of 1 p.m. If the 9er groups are very full, we will delay the tee times to 12:45 p.m. on those days to give 9ers the chance to finish.

For the rest of November, call-in for tee times will begin at 7 a.m., and December and January will start at 7:30 a.m. The pro shop hours will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. in November and 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in December and January.

This year, we will be starting 9-hole annuals. The catch is that you are limited to one 9-hole round per day. The more you play, the more you’ll end up paying. This should help our 9ers who use punch cards or pay cash. It should be slightly cheaper this way. Check with the pro shop staff for details.

Don’t forget the next board meeting Nov. 21. Play well and be patient. We will be busy for the next few months.
